Abstract:
PURPOSE:To read an original for obtaining profiles thereof in a short time, by scanning rows of marks on an original to electtronically detect the marks only and determine the position and size thereof, and memorizing the information as positional data. CONSTITUTION:A reading-starting point 16 is set in alignment with an optical axis 31 of a reading head 3. The movement of a movable table 2 is then controlled such that a point of intersection 14 on an original, which is in alignment with the optical axis 31, is changed from a supporting point 14M1 to a supporting point 14M4. A signal from a mark detector 32 provided on the reading head 3 is input into a judgement circuit 93 in which the presence of a mark is ascertained. When a mark is present, a trigger circuit 92 is energized with a trigger signal consisting of an output from the judgement circuit 93. As a result, the position of the mark is memorized as data in a memory circuit 95.
