Abstract:
PURPOSE: To easily cope with alteration of paper money or the change of the denomination to be handled. CONSTITUTION: An image detection means 15 which detects a pattern on all of the surface of paper sheet, a storage means, a neural network paper discrimination means to which the pattern stored in the storage means 12 is inputted, and an authenticity discrimination means 14 which discriminates the authenticity of paper sheet based on the paper sheet discrimination result of the neural network paper sheet discrimination means are provided. The neural network paper sheet discrimination is provided with a neural network operation means and an output discrimination means which is connected to the output layer of the neural network operation means and outputs the paper sheet discrimination result correspondingly to the output of the neuron unit in the output layer. The image pattern stored in the storage means 12 is inputted to an input unit in the input layer, and the neuron unit in the output layer corresponds to handled paper sheet in 1:1.
