Abstract:

CONSTITUTION:When the paper, etc., is conveyed and its head end reaches the identifying means 15, the identifying means 15 begins to identify the paper, etc. When the identification is carried on up to a specific position in the middle of the conveying-directional width of the paper, etc., a temporary deciding means 26 decides the kind of the paper, etc., temporarily according to the identification result obtained so far. The destination of conveyance through a distributing means is determined according to the temporary decision result and the paper, etc., moves forth in the conveyance destination direction. When the identifying means 15 identifies the paper, etc., up to its foot end, a comparing means 29 compares the kind decision result with the temporary decision result. When the comparison result indicates coincidence, the paper, etc., is conveyed as it is and when not, the paper, etc., is conveyed backward.
