Abstract:
PURPOSE:To attain a feature recognition with high accuracy by making a relative distance between character boundaries into a coordinates variable and permitting it to be remarkably. CONSTITUTION:Respective components of vectors to be primary features PA1 and PA2 are moved, namely propagated by a unit quantity in prescribed directions for respective components, and next, when prescribed stop conditions are satisfied, the components of the vector are copied to a secondary feature PA3 storage circuit while distinguishing a stop position and a cumulative propagation frequency. The data in the secondary feature PA3 memory device obtained in such a manner can be described in a matrix having three coordinates variables. Provided that, among three coordinates variables, two are positional coordinates and the remaining one is the relative distance between the character boundaries, namely, the number of times of the cumulative propagation. In such a manner, by permitting the relative distance between the character boundaries, namely, the number of times of the cumulative propagation to be remarkably as the coordinates variable, the essential high-order feature quantity of the character can be extracted. Thus, the features PA1-PA3 can be recognized with high accuracy.
