Abstract:
PURPOSE:To obtain a magnification picture with excellent picture element density conservation with respect to a picture in mixture of a character picture and a pseudo intermediate tone picture, to prevent blurring of an edge part of the character picture possibly occurred at multi-value processing, to suppress production of moire stripes of pseudo contour and to realize the picture element density conversion picture with high quality. CONSTITUTION:A binary data inputted by a binary magnification circuit 2 is magnified respectively a multiple of (n) (n is an integer) in the main scanning direction and a multiple of (m) (m is an integer) in the subscanning direction. A multi-value processing circuit 3 stores a data to a memory once, extracts a picture data of an optional area, refers an area comprising a noted picture element and its surrounding picture elements to calculate the picture data of multi-value density based on a window outputted from a weight table. A magnification circuit 4 reduces/magnifies the picture data of multi-value density into an optional size by the interleave processing of a picture clock and a line synchronizing signal. A binarizing circuit 5 converts the picture data of the multi- value density into a binary data.
