Abstract:
PURPOSE: To provide a thermal energy storage material compsn. which does not cause a supercooling phenomenon and plastic deformation over an operating temperature range, by incorporating sodium acetate trihydrate in the three- dimensional network of a hydrous gel of a crosslinked polymer of (meth)acrylamide.
CONSTITUTION: An aq. soln. of 0.5W10wt% (meth)acrylamide dissolved in 0.5W 10pts.wt. water is added to 100pts.wt. sodium acetate, and the mixture is reacted in the presence of a crosslinking and polymn. catalyst to obtain a thermal energy storage material compsn. having a m.p. of 56°C.
