PURPOSE: To remove efficiently and effectively the spatter sticking to a torch by ejecting a compressed gas to a hole for ejecting a shielding gas into the space in a nozzle right after the end of welding thereby atomizing the oil therein.
CONSTITUTION: Solenoid stop valves 50, 52 are respectively closed and opened to supply compressed air through an air supply hose 48 to a gas supply hose 46 right after the end of a series of welding. A plunger in a pump 54 is driven by the compressed air flow, by which oil is delivered from a tank 78 to an oil feed hose 74 and is atomized. The oil mist is then supplied to a torch 10. The compressed air is ejected at ≥240Nl/min flow rate from a gas hole for ejecting a shielding gas to the ejecting passage 32 of a gas nozzle 16 and ≥0.03cc oil is atomized during the ejection of said gas. The spatter sticking to the nozzle 16 and chip 14 is blown off and the oil film enough to weaken the adhesion strength of the spatter to the surface thereof is formed.
