Abstract:

PURPOSE: To improve the storage stability of an aq. resin dispersion by compounding it with a nitroalcohol.

CONSTITUTION: This resin dispersion compsn. comprises an aq. resin dispersion and a compd. of the formula (wherein (n) is 1-3; R1 and R2 are each H, Br, or Cl; and R3 is H or acetyl) contained therein in an amt. of 10-5,000 ppm. Examples of the dispersion are a polyvinly acetate emulsion, an ethylene-vinyl acetate copolymer emulsion, an acrylic polymer emulsion, a synthetic rubber latex, and a plastic-pigment emulsion; examples of the compd. include 2-bromo-2- nitropropane-1,3-diol, 2-bromo-2-nitrobutane-1,3-diol, and 3-bromo-3- nitropentane-2,4-diol.
