PURPOSE: To perform high-efficient relief operation by a method wherein the hydraulic relief mechanism of a power steering device is constituted to cope with variation of a gear ratio only through variation of a cam part even when the gear ratio is varied and reduce incurring of a pressure loss.
CONSTITUTION: Cam parts 32 and 33 synchronized with a time when steering of a steering handle is ended are arranged to a rack shaft 3 geared with a pinion gear. A push rod 2 making contact with the cam parts 32 and 33 is provided. A flexible shaft 4 to transmit operation of the push rod 2 to the spool 11 of a relief valve 1 is provided. A cartridge type sleeve 12 to contain a spool 11 and so on is provided and the sleeve 12 is arranged to a housing 5. A port 121 connected to a feed port and a port 122 connected to a discharge port are formed in the sleeve 12. Further, a recessed groove 123 in which the head 111 of the spool 11 is contained when steering is completed is provided.
