Abstract:
PURPOSE: To simultaneously apply preliminary refining treatments such as the cold iron source melting treatment and the dephosphorization(de-P) treatment mutually conflicted by blowing CO2 gas quantity produced with decomposing reaction of carrier gas and flux from a refractory lance immersed in molten iron so as to become the specific quantity in the de-P period. CONSTITUTION: The molten iron 5 containing 0.25% Si and scrap 7 are charged into a refining furnace 3. The flux together with the carrier gas are blown from the refractory lance 2 so that the total CO2 gas quantity produced with the decomposing reaction of the carrier gas and the flux becomes in the range of 0.2-0.5Nm<3> /min.t. The de-P flux adjusting the basicity of the cover slag 6 produced on the surface of the molten iron to 1.5-2.5 is added from the upper part or the refractory lance 2 till completing the silicon-removing reaction. In the de-P period at latter half after completing the melting of the cold iron source, the flux together with carrier gas are blown from the refractory lance 2 so that the total CO2 gas quantity produced with the decomposing reaction of the carrier gas and the flux becomes <=0.05Nm<3> /min.t. By this method, the cold iron source reduction melting and de-P treatment can be applied.
