PURPOSE: To flexibly deal with the changes of respective feature parameters by utilizing plural individually peculiar features and to confirm identity even when any individually peculiar feature can not be utilized.
CONSTITUTION: The plural individually peculiar features such as voice, fingerprint and hand are read (step 1), the read feature parameters are respectively divided into plural categories reflected with individual features (step 2). Then, the respective divided categories are weighted and merged corresponding to the degree of easiness for the appearance of each individual feature (step 3), and the respective feature parameters provided by merging are weighted and merged corresponding to the degree of easiness for the appearance of each individual feature (step 4). Finally, the identity is confirmed by comparing the merged result with a threshold value (step 5).
