PURPOSE: To detect the number of passengers in an elevator car accurately, without deteriorating the detecting accuracy owing to the height of the detecting objects, and by preventing an error detection.
CONSTITUTION: A detecting device of objects in an elevator car is composed of an image process device 1, a TV camera 2, and a passenger detecting device 5. Its output is transmitted to an elevator control device 3, and used to control the elevator. A correcting coefficient calculating processer 11 calculates a correcting coefficient to the area of the image such as the detected passengers and the like, from the height of the image of the detected object at a specific position. A passenger detecting processer 10 carries out the correction process of the area of the image of a detected passenger and the like, by using the correction coefficient calculated by the correction coefficient calculation processer 11, converts the area into the number of the passengers, and outputs it. Consequently, since the height of the object is detected, the correcting coefficient is calculated from the detected height, and the process of correcting the area of the object is carried out, the accurate number of passengers in the elevator car can be found.
