PURPOSE: To slowly cool the repair surface of a water cooled refractory panel and to enhance the durability and life thereof by providing a steel frame packed with cooling pipes and high-thermal conductivity monolithic refractories on its rear surface with heat insulating monolithic refractor layers in two layers.
CONSTITUTION: Monolithic refractory 10 having a high thermal conductivity, such as carbon stamping material, is packed between the steel frame 1 and the water cooling pipes 7. Further, the surface thereof is provided with a heat insulating monolithic refractory 2 to obtain the water cooled refractory panel for repairing blast furnace walls. At this time, the heat insulating refractory 2 described above is composed by pouring the heat insulating monolithic refractory layers 4, 6 of a two-layered structure to the sections welded with studs 3, 5 on the in-furnace working surface side of the steel frame 1. The refractory layer 4 on the steel frame surface side having arranged I-studs 3 of these two layers is preferably formed out of cordierite having a low strength and a low thermal conductivity and the refractory layer 6 of the in- furnace side working surface having arranged V-studs 5 is formed out of SiC having a high strength and a high thermal conductivity and metallic fibers are added and mixed with at least one layer thereof to enhance the spalling function.
