Abstract:
PURPOSE: To provide a bipolar electrode with improved adhesion between a partitioning wall of a bipolar battery and an active material-containing electrode material. CONSTITUTION: A bipolar electrode of a lead-acid battery comprises a lead partitioning plate 2 and a porous coating 16 formed on at least one side 18 by fixing a cathode active material paste 24 in the partitioning plate. The porous coating is constituted of multi-layered lead particles 20 which are melted and deposited one another and also melted and deposited on one side 18 of the partitioning plate as to form gap holes 22 for fixation. The lead particles are produced from melted droplets of lead arc-sprayed to the surface of the partitioning plate.
