Title:
STEERING PRESSURE REGULATOR FOR POWER STEERING
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JPS5812868
Kind Code:
A
Abstract:

PURPOSE: To stabilize the handle operation at the high speed travelling by reducing the steering power of the power steering while utilizing the steering pressure to be produced in the power cylinder when operating the handle abruptly at the high speed travelling.

CONSTITUTION: A bypath valve 30 for conducting/blocking both chambers in a power cylinder 12 in accordance to the car speed is fixed to the power cylinder 12. The bypath valve 30 has a valve body 31 where a flow path 26 opening to the right chamber of the power cylinder and a flow path 28 opening to a through hole 27 conducting to the left chamber are provided in said valve body 31. A valve body 41 having a bypass slit 41a is inserted slidably in the axial direction into the small diameter section 32a of a stepped inner hole 32 made in the valve body 31, and the control pressure proportional to the car speed is applied through a pressurized oil inlet port 301 onto said valve body 41. A plug 50 is fitted in a through-hole 12a made in the cylinder 12, then the spools 52, 53 to be operated by the cylinder pressure are inserted into the inner hole 51 made in the core of said plug.
