PURPOSE: To make a disk cartridge pass while accurately keeping a clearance to magnetic head and to prevent the damage of the magnetic head by providing a guiding part for guiding the disk cartridge while coming into contact with each other between an unloading and a loading positions and cancelling the while the cartridge is retracted at the time of loading.

CONSTITUTION: The disk cartridge (Dc) 1 is guided to a prescribed position in the device along the lower surface of a disk holder 7b and slid on the surface of a guide plate 23 run up a base plate 22. Thus, the Dc 1 passes through the clearance between a S1 magnetic head 2 and a SO magnetic head 13 while drawing a precise guiding orbit and reaches the loading position. In the meantime, by revolving a revolving lever 16 while the Dc 1 is abutted on the first pin 17, a sliding plate 8 is lowered from the base plate 22 and the guiding plate 23 is retracted to the lower surface of the base plate 22. That is, the holder 7 is made to descent to the loading position and the Dc 1 is loaded to a spindle motor 3. Thus, the damages of the heads 2, 13 are prevented.
