Abstract:
PURPOSE: To obtain a low voltage driving liquid crystal display device which has multigradation and can be driven by a low voltage driving circuit.
CONSTITUTION: To bring a range of twist angle 14 of a nematic liquid crystal layer between 95° and 150°, to use phase difference plates 20, 21 with 0.005μm≤Δnd≤0.2μm, to bring common voltage to alternating current and to use a liquid crystal composition with low threshold voltage; three or more elements among these are combined. The liquid crystal display device is reduced in the driving voltage and can be a low voltage driving liquid crystal display device with multigradation.
