Abstract:
PURPOSE:To apply a specific tensile force and to prevent a slack or the like by providing a wire clamper which clamps the winding end part of a spacer wire in the slit groove of an upper end plug and a calking mechanism which fixes the winding end part of the spacer wire temporarily. CONSTITUTION:A pressing jig 21 which presses and fixes a fuel rod 1 to a support member 20 together with the spacer wire 6 wound around the fuel rod 1 and arranged above the support member 20 so that the jig can be moved up and down by a cylinder 22 for the pressing jig. The calking mechanism 24 which clamps and presses both sides of the upper end plug 5 of the fuel rod 1 by being operated by the cylinder 23 to calk the slit groove 5a of the end plug 5 is arranged on one side of the member 20. Further, the wire clamper 26 which is provided at a position corresponding to the root part of the slit groove 5a of the fuel rod 1 supported by the member 20 and swing around a horizontal shaft 25 crossing the axis of the fuel rod 1 at right angles is arranged on the rear surface side of the member 20 and mechanism 24.
