NEW MATERIAL:A compound expressed by formula I (R<1> represents 1-20C alkyl, 7-20C aralkyl or 6-19C aryl; R<2> and R<3> represent 1-20C alkyl, 7-20C aralkyl, 6-19C aryl or 3-10C cycloalkyl including C at the 3'-position; R<4> represents OH, amino, 1-20C alkoxy, 1-20C alkyl, etc.; R<5> represents electron attractive group; R<6> to R<8> represents OH, amino, 1-20C alkoxy, 1-20C alkyl, 2-20C acryl, etc.; k is 2-4; l and m are 0-2; n is 0-4). EXAMPLE:A compound expressed by formula II. USE:A material for printing, optical instrument, recording material, medication, decoration, etc. PREPARATION:A methylene indoline compound expressed by formula III (example; 1,3,3-trimethyl-2-methylene-5,6-dichloroindoline) is reacted with a 1-nitroso-2- naphthol compound expressed by formula IV.
