PURPOSE: To prevent loop from escaping from a base fabric and keep loop so as not to fall even when the loop is cut in a state holding a single loop around a looper.

CONSTITUTION: An oscillating piece 31 is attached to a looper 26 and a knife 34 is fixed to this oscillating piece 31. A machine needle 19 and a balance are up in a state where a pile yarn is hung on the looper 26 and the knife 34 operates in conditions where the looper 26 advances and the loop is cut to afford a cut pile and then, the machine needle 19 and the balance are down to form the following loop. A part of a fabric pressor 42 is supported by a rod-like supporting member 44 to prevent the hung-down pile from falling.
