PURPOSE: To form a coagulating dead space in the vicinity of a fixing part so as to coagulate steam escaping to the space, and so as to collect a water drop by means of a waste water discharging system.
CONSTITUTION: As to this heating-pressurization fixing device for fixing a toner image on a copy medium; a thin web 16 wound around the part of a heating-fixing roll 14 forms an extended fixing part. A surrounded dead space 40 is under the fixing part, and a system for collecting and removing the water drop is assembled in the space 40. When the copy medium 12 passes through the fixing part, moisture included in the copy medium is vaporized, coagulated inside the space 40, and collected to a groove at the bottom of the space 40. Water is periodically discharged through a discharging port 46, and is put inside a container.
