PURPOSE: To obtain a normally solid hot-melt recording ink excellent in applicability and erasability by dissolving an ethylene/vinyl acetate copolymer, a dye and a pigment in a normally solid compound such as candelilla wax.
CONSTITUTION: At least one normally solid compound selected from among candelilla wax, montan wax and an α-olefin/maleic anhydride copolymer is melt mixed with an ethylene/vinyl acetate copolymer, a dye (e.g. Nigrosine dye) and a pigment (e.g. Pigment Orange), and the resulting mixture is well milled on a roll mill to produce a normally solid hot-melt recording ink. This ink in a solid state is fed to an ink jet head, melted by heating on a heater, and delivered in the form of drops onto paper, whereupon the drops can be fixed on the recording paper to form a clear image by the action of the wax and the ethylene/vinyl acetate copolymer. This image can easily be erased by mechanical friction.
