PURPOSE: To prepare the titled composition containing a vinyl polymer having hydrolyzable silyl group and a group originated from a polymerizable unsaturated dibasic acid monoester, and a catalyst for hydrolysis and condensation, having excellent dispersibility of pigment, giving a cured product having excellent gloss and brightness, and suitable for repair of automobile, etc.
CONSTITUTION: The objective composition is obtained by compounding (A) a vinyl polymer having hydrolyzable silyl group and a group originated from a polymerizable unsaturated dibasic acid monoester of formulaI, II or III (R1 is cycloalkyl, aralkyl, alkyl, or alkyl substituted with O atom and N atom) and obtained e.g. by copolymerizing (i) a vinyl monomer containing alkoxysilyl group, (ii) a polymerizable unsaturated dibasic acid monoester, and (iii) other vinyl monomers copolymerizable therewith, and (B) a catalyst for hydrolysis and condensation. The amount of the catalyst (B) is preferably 0.01W5wt% of the solid component of the component (A).
USE: Wood product, building material, plastic article, etc. to which a urethane coating is hitherto applied.
