PURPOSE: To apply a transducer to a magnetic read head.

CONSTITUTION: This invention relates to a magnetic flux guide having a tongue and a magneto-resistive transducer incorporated with the magnetic flux guide. This transducer is provided with the magnetic flux guide having a first and a second part 2, 3 separated in the longitudinal direction by a head gap 4, and a magneto-resistive bar 5 which faces the head gap and is arranged along the head gap. A series of the first and the second tongue 9, 10 is provided at certain intervals in each edge part 7, 8 adjacent to the head gap 4 of the first and the second part 2, 3, the tongue 9 of the first part 2 is extended into the space of the second part 3 and the tongue 10 of the second part is extended into the space of the first part 2.
