PURPOSE: To make it possible to automatically perform the alignment of cylindrical batteries of which the appearance phase is shaped by a method wherein a pair of cylindrical batteries are carried, arranged side by side, and the batteries are rotated on the way, and the rotation is stopped when a specified mark is detected to position the batteries.
CONSTITUTION: Cylindrical batteries 2 which are input, arranged side by side a shoot 1 are held in a recessed part 3a of a radial rotary feeder 3, and fed to an aligning drum 4. Then, the batteries are held in respective stations 4a which are provided in the aligning drum 4 with the same pitch as the recessed parts 3a. At the same time, while respective batteries 2 are individually rotated by a motor at each station 4a, a reference mark which is provided on the outer peripheral surface of the case of the batteries 2 is monitored by a detection sensor 11 being radially arranged, and when the reference mark is detected, the rotation of said batteries 2 is stopped. Thus, the appearance phase of the batteries 2 is aligned, and then the batteries 2 are suction-held in respective recessed parts 12a of a radial rotary delivery machine 12, and transferred to the top of a magnet belt 13 under the aligned condition.
