At least one direction-jet nozzle is located between the point of entry of the yarn into the storage and feed device and the feed-out point from the yarn-winding element; this nozzle can be activated independently of the nozzles fitted downstream of the feed-out point so that in the event of a partial failure, where stored yarn remains on the storage surface, the yarn end can be blown below the feed-out point.
