PURPOSE: To obtain a solid eraser composition which can cleanly erase and hide the writing of a water-based or oil-based ink by mixing a specified water- soluble resin with a gel former, a humectant, a white pigment and a water- alcohol solvent.
CONSTITUTION: This solid eraser composition is prepared by mixing a cationic water-soluble resin (A) with a gel former (B), a humectant (C), a white pigment (D) and a water-lower alcohol solvent (E) as the essential components. As component A, a cationic acrylic resin, an acryl/styrene resin or an acryl/silicone resin is desirable. As component B, an alkali metal or ammonium salt of an about 12-18 C aliphatic carboxylic acid is used. As component C, swellable synthetic mica is desirable. As component D, titanium oxide is desirable. As the lower alcohol of component E, ethanol is the most suitable. A film former, an orientation accelerator, a spreadability imprvner, etc., are optionally added to this composition.
