Abstract:
PURPOSE:To shorten the overall width of a valve operating mechanism, by setting up an end pivot of a rocker arm in the central part of a cylinder head. CONSTITUTION:Each of end pivots 25 and 26 supporting rocker arms 30 and 31 used for a suction valve 11 and an exhaust valve 12 is set up in the central part of a cylinder head 14. Each of these rocker arms 30 and 31 is rocked by cam shafts 28 and 29. Comparing such a case that these end pivots are set up outside the valve, width L2 comes small so that a valve operating mechanism and the cylinder head both also come compact in size.
