Abstract:
PURPOSE:To measure the tritium concentration without being affected by the pollution on the inner face of a detector by providing a hydrogen adsorbing metal plate adsorbing the sample gas and a device radiating the pulse light to the surface of the adsorbing metal plate. CONSTITUTION:A hydrogen adsorbing metal plate 11 easily adsorbing hydrogen (including tritium) and mirror-finished on the surface, e.g., a nickel plate, is put in an ionization chamber 1. When the pulse light is radiated on the hydrogen adsorbing metal plate 11 face, the adsorbed tritium component is gasified and desorbed. The pulse radiation light is received by a light detector 12 in a data processor after an amplifier 4, it is processed by a synchronous amplifier 5 amplifying only the signal component synchronous with the pulse light, and the output is displayed.
