PURPOSE: To improve strength and reliability of weld zone, further to improve absorption efficiency of laser beam and productivity by setting dimension of bent end in the prescribed range and irradiating the prescribed position with laser beam in welding a wire rod and material to be welded having bent part by laser beam.
CONSTITUTION: The abutted part between a wire rod 1 and material to be welded, which is bent in its end about at right angle by bending, is irradiated with the laser beam from a laser irradiating device and is welded. In this case, the relation between a height H of bent part 2a and a diameter of wire rod 1 is set as in the inequality of D≤H≤3D. The abutted part S between bent part and wire rod 1 is preferably it irradiated with laser beam. As the laser beam is directed to a part S, multiple reflection is generated between the bent part 2a and wire rod 1, since the energy loss reflected outside from the bent part 2a and wire rod 1 is reduced, efficient welding is executed with reduced energy.
