PURPOSE: To improve a bonding force and tearing strength between a coating layer and a base fabric while obtaining flame-retardant property by a method wherein the coating layer of elastomer, blended with flame retardant material, is provided on the surface of a soft base fabric while the flame retardant material is constituted of needle crystals having a specified aspect ratio and a specified length of particle of crystal.
CONSTITUTION: The coating layer of elastomer, blended with flame retardant material, is provided on the upper surface of a soft substrate while the flame retardant material is constituted of needle crystals, having the aspect ratio of 4 or more and the length of particle of crystal of 100μm or less. When the rubber coated fabric is employed for the escape device for aeroplane, a coating layer 6 on the inside of a substrate 5 in the film member 3 of an air bag 1 is formed of ether type thermosetting poly urethane polymer blended with flame detardant material while the coating layer 7 on the outer surface is constituted of a material same as the coating layer 6 but blended with aluminum powder and the like to provide a function to reflect radiation heat. A coating layer 9 on the inside surface of a substrate 8 in the film member 4 of a sliding surface 2 is constituted of the same material as the coating layer 6 but the coating layer 10 on the outer surface of the same is constituted of the same material as the coating layer 9 but blended with electrically-conductive material.
