PURPOSE: To provide the light scattering body which has excellent flexibility and handling property and good workability, can be inexpensively produced and can scatter light with high efficiency by polymerizing ≥2 kinds of monomers forming a specific elastic body, thereby forming an optically heterogeneous transparent polymer.
CONSTITUTION: The light scattering body consist of optically heterogeneous transparent polymer is obtd. by polymerizing ≥2 kinds of the monomers which vary in reactivity, such as reaction rate, from each other, and the respective polymers of which are transparent and vary in the refractive index from each other and which form the elastic material having the transition temp of the polymer to constitute the matrix below room temp. The incident light on such light scattering body is scattered at the boundary of the aggregated structural body varying in the refractive index but the light scattering body is fully formed of the transparent material and, therefore, there is substantially no light loss by absorption and the incident light is efficiently scattered. This light scattering body is the elastic material matrix having the glass transition temp. below room temp. and, therefore, has the excellent flexibility, handling property and workability at room temp.
