PURPOSE: To provide an image pickup device which photographs images having various aspect ratios, keeps the control capability of a prescribed level at all times even when the image in any aspect ratio is picked up an keeps the image quality of a prescribed level at all times accordingly.

CONSTITUTION: The image pickup device is able to accommodate an optical system 101 provided with an anamorphic lens 10 converting the aspect ratio of a photographing image and corrects the parameter of the circuit related when a photographing signal (image signal) is obtained in response to the conversion characteristic of the aspect ratio of the optical system 101 when the image photograph is implemented with the optical system 101 loaded thereto.
