PURPOSE: To share a switching element for detecting a cassette holder to be at a loading start position with a switching element for detecting a faulty erasure preventing lug.

CONSTITUTION: A loading start position and faulty erasure prevention detecting lever 41 is provided with an extension part 45 to be in contact with a lever 22 when the cassette holder 31 is in the loading start position, while a tip of an erection part 46 is provided with a claw part 47 to be in contact with the faulty erasure preventing lug of a video cassette. The other end side of the loading start position and faulty erasure prevention detecting lever 41 can be detected in the direction from the front by a switch 12 with its operation part 12a. Thus, by the loading start position and faulty erasure prevention detecting lever 41 and the switch 12, the switching element for detecting the cassette holder in the loading start position and the switching element for detecting the faulty erasure preventing lug can be shared with each other.
