Abstract:
PURPOSE:To prevent the permanent damage of a GTO by detecting a voltage between the gate and the cathode of the GTO, and opening a main circuit of the GTO when a turn OFF gain increases improperly. CONSTITUTION:When a turn OFF gain increases due to the cause of the variation in the voltage of a gate drive circuit 10, one output time width of the output 100 becomes long. When the time width of the output 100 increases longer than the maximum storage time signal 101, the output 102 of an AND circuit 12 outputs ''1''. An electromagnetic contactor drive circuit 15 outputs an open command of an electromagnetic contactor 11 by the one output of the outputs 102 to open the main circuit of the GTO3. Such a series of operation can prevent the GTO3 from operating by the improper turn OFF gain G.
