Abstract:
PURPOSE:To offer an X-Y/r-theta conversion circuit which is capable of high-speed operation and is realized with a small-capacity memory. CONSTITUTION:When (r, theta) is obtained from (X, Y) in accordance with theta=tan<-1> (X/Y) and r=X.sintheta+Y.costheta, 1/Y is read out from a reciprocal calculation table memory 5 based on Y, and X/Y is obtained by a multiplier 6, and tan<-1> (X/Y) is read out from an inverse tan table memory 7 based on X/Y to obtain theta, and sintheta and costheta are obtained from table memories 10 and 11 by this theta, and r=X.sintheta+Y.costheta is calculated by multipliers 12 and 13 and an adder 14.
