PURPOSE: To obtain an electrostatic recording material superior in durability, by forming a conductive layer consisting of an organic binder and a conductive pigment with a conductor consisting essentially of indium oxide or tin oxide attached, and a dielectric layer on an insulating substrate.
CONSTITUTION: In an electrostatic recording material formed by providing a conductive layer and a dielectric layer on an insulating substrate, such as polyethylene terephthalate film, the conductive layer is composed of an organic binder and a conductive pigment with a conductor consisting essentially of indium oxide or tin oxide attached to the surface. A preferable ratio of the pigment to the binder is 2:1W4:1 by weight, thus permitting deterioration of durability due to dielectric breakdown to be improved by use of such a conductive layer.
