Abstract:
PURPOSE:To improve the payment transaction processing efficiency by performing the paper money counting process in parallel with the input and discrimination of a personal identification number, communication with a center device about the judgment of the transaction, etc., and, when the transaction is not performed, returning the counted paper money to the original place and, at the same time, inhibiting the updating of the sum of the paid amount. CONSTITUTION:The counting process of the paper money to be paid is started while a customer inputs transaction data and before communication is performed with a central computer and, similarly, printing on a transaction slip is performed as soon as information to be printed is inputted. When the transactions finally becomes impossible, the previously counted paper money is returned to the safe from which the paper money is taken out. Therefore, counting of paper money and printing on the transaction slip can be performed by utilizing the time during which the customer operates this automated teller and communication is performed with the central computer without lowering the money utilizing rate. Thus the factors which prolong the transaction time other than the performance of the device in the course of payment transactions can be eliminated.
