Abstract:
PURPOSE:To read the image information on a card in a contrast state optimum to the entire color of the card by adjusting automatically the scanning contrast of an image scanner based on the card information detected before an image scanning operation. CONSTITUTION:When a magnetic card is put into a card slit 1, a magnetic head 3 of a card reader part 4 reads the magnetic tape data out of a transferred card when the card is transferred through a transfer path 2 and outputs a read signal to a scanning contrast switch control part 7. The part 7 reads the level value out of a storage part 8 in response to the color of the card decided based on the magnetic tape data which are read out of the card by the part 4 and performs the automatic adjustment of contrast of an image scanner part 6. Thus the part 6 can read the image information on the card in a contrast state optimum to the entire color of the card.
