Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a coated metal plate having excellent stain resistance without rain streak dirt by decomposing adhered organic material by utilizing photocatalyst activity. SOLUTION: The coated metal plate with excellent stain resistance comprises a silica primer layer 2 having a thickness of 10 μm or more, and a silica top layer 3 having a thickness of 0.5 μm or more sequentially formed on a substrate steel 1. In this case, the layer 2 contains inorganic pigment, and the layer 3 contains photocatalyst and inorganic pigment. The layer 2 contains 0.5 to 80 wt.% of inorganic pigment. The layer 3 contains total content of 5 to 80 wt.% of the photocatalyst and inorganic pigment so that 5 wt.% or more of the photocatalyst. This plate is manufactured by the steps of coating on the surface inorganic pigment-containing organosilica sol, heat treating to form a primer layer made of precursor on the surface, then coating with organosilica sol containing the photocatalyst and inorganic pigment, and heat treating to form a photocatalytic activity layer. As the organosilica sol, organosilicate having a structure of R<1> Si(OR<2> )3 (where R<1> , R<2> indicate alkyl groups) which is dissolved in organic solvent and water is used.
