Abstract:
PURPOSE: To obtain a method for producing an optically active 2-hydroxy-3- nitropropionic acid readily convertible into optically active isoserine.
CONSTITUTION: A racemic modification of a 2-hydroxy-3-nitropropionic acid ester is subjected to the ability of a microorganism to stereospecifically hydrolyze the ester. The produced optically active 2-hydroxy-3-nitropropionic acid is simultaneously collected and/or the remaining optically active 2-hydroxy-3- nitropropionic acid ester without undergoing the action is collected. The obtained 2-hydroxy-3-nitropropionic acid ester, as necessary, is hydrolyzed.
