PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a string body capable of covering a forked connecting part of drawing string, etc., in good durability and a cover for forked connecting part. SOLUTION: This string body 1 has a forked connecting part 2. The string body 1 is obtained by providing a rigid cylindrical cover 4 surrounding a connecting and superposing part 3 of the forked connecting part 2 in nearly matching state and formed in tapered state from forked side to non-forked side, providing a forked engaging member 5 extended on diameter line from the rear over the cylindrical cover 4 from the inside of forked connecting part 2 of the string body 1 toward non-forked side and providing an engaging part for engaging the engaging member 5 in extended state by mutually forcibly or elastically engaging a forked leg 5b of the engaging member 5 with the cylindrical cover 4.
