PURPOSE: To provide a printing apparatus enabled in miniaturization and wt. reduction, constituted by mounting a cylindrical paper allowance part, of which the revolving center is equal to that of the platen and the diameter is almost equal to the outer diameter of the platen, at the specific position thereof.

CONSTITUTION: A platen 1 and a rotary lever (e.g., a paper press mechanism operating lever) 8 equipped with a cylindrical paper allowacne part 8a, of which the revolving center 2 is equal to that of the aforementioned platen 1 and the diameter is almost equal to the outer diameter of the platen, so as to be adjacent to the platen 1 on the extended line in the longitudinal direction of said platen 1 are mounted to constitute an objective apparatus.

EFFECT: By providing a space for winding the end part of printing paper by equalizing a part of the rotary lever 8 to the outer diameter of the platen 1, printing receives no trouble even if the width B of the platen 1 is made smaller than the max. width A of the printing paper and the width (h) of a printing apparatus can be made small as compared with that of a conventional one. If the outer peripheral surface of the bearing 5 of the platen shaft is constituted as the shaft member of the rotary lever, the rotary operation of the rotary lever can be made smooth and the cost reduction thereof can be achieved.
