PURPOSE: To attain the selection of reflecting type and a transmission type, by making a liquid crystal display device attachable and detachable to/from a reflecting plate provided in a television device.

CONSTITUTION: The liquid crystal display device comprising two glass plates 3 forming a picture element electrode, a liquid crystal layer 7 inserted and held by the glass plates and two deflecting plates 2, is provided to the television device so as to make the display device detachable and attachable from/to the reflecting plate 4. In bringing a liquid crystal panel into close contact with the reflecting plate 4, a reflecting type liquid crystal display device is obtained and when the liquid crystal panel is slid or turned to detach the reflecting plate 5, a transmission type liquid crystal display device is attained, allowing to improve the contrast even at a little dark place.
