PURPOSE: To provide the dishwasher (dish washer 1 drier) which stabilizes washing performance and improves reliability and safety by suppressing the foaming phenomenon of washing water caused by dirt stuck on dishes.
CONSTITUTION: Based on the sucking force change of a washing pump 3, a water level detecting means detects the change of a water level in a washing tub 22, and a normal washing level in the washing tub 3 and a foaming water level are discriminated. Then, a foaming level previously stored in an external storage part is compared with the output of a water level sensor 13 and when the output is higher than the foaming level, the washing pump 3, heating unit 4 and drainage water supply valve are controlled in certain directions so as to recover the foaming phenomenon. Thus, since the foaming phenomenon of washing water in the process of washing can be suppressed at a fixed level and the foaming phenomenon of washing water can be reduced by controlling the operations of the washing pump 3, heating unit 4 and drainage and water supply valves, stable washing performance can be secured.
