Title:
HIGH-LUMINANCE CHROMINANCE SIGNAL SUPPRESSING CIRCUIT
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JPH0767130
Kind Code:
A
Abstract:

PURPOSE: To simplify circuit configuration and to reduce the cost by providing a means for clipping or slicing the upside or downside of a modulated chroma signal while using a luminance signal higher than a prescribed level at the high-luminance chrominance signal suppressing circuit used for the signal processing of a video.

CONSTITUTION: Luminance signals CS and Y for color suppression are generated by the process similar to a conventional example. On the other hand, luminance signals XCS and Y for inverted color suppression are generated by an inverter circuit 13. The chroma signal modulated by a balanced modulation circuit is inputted from a modulated chroma signal input terminal 1 similarly to the conventional. Concerning the inputted chroma signal, the downside of the signal is sliced by the luminance signals CS and Y for color suppression at a second slice circuit 12. Next, the upside of the signal is clipped by the luminance signals XCS and Y for inverted color suppression at a clip circuit 14, and the high- luminance color suppressing operation is performed. Thus, the circuit configuration can be simplified by respectively using one inverter circuit 13, one slice circuit 12 and one clip circuit 14 in place of a multiplier and a limiter circuit used conventionally.
