PURPOSE: To improve hue development and color development performance by using a combination of an acylacetamido type yellow coupler and a specified hydroquinone derivative.

CONSTITUTION: The color image-forming coupler of the blue-sensitive layer is the acylacetamido type yellow coupler having the acyl group represented by formula I and at least one of the blue-, green-, and red-sensitive layers and nonphotosensitive layers contains the hydroquinone derivative represented by formula II or III. In formulae I-III, RY1 is a substituent; QY1 is a nonmetallic atomic group necessary to form a 6-membered hetero ring or a 5-membered 2 hetero atom-containing hetero ring together with the C atom; each of RQ1 and RQ2 is, independently, a group releasing II or OH; each of RQ3, RQ4, and RQQ6 is II, halogen, or the like; RQ5 is aryl; each of RQ11-RQ16 is, independently, H halogen, sulfo, carboxy, or the like.
