Abstract:

PURPOSE: To obtain the silver halide photographic sensitive material superior in rapid processing aptitude and capable of forming a high-contrast image even with a developing solution comparatively low in pH.

CONSTITUTION: The silver halide photographic sensitive material contains in a silver halide emulsion layer or another hydrophilic colloidal layer a compound represented by formula I in which R1 is optionally naphthyl; G1 is -CO-, -SO2-, -SO-, -COCO-, thio-carbonyl, iminomethylene, or -P(O)(G2R3)-; G2 is a simple bond,-O-, or -NR3-; R2 is H, an aliphatic or aromatic group, alkoxy, aryloxy, or amino; and R3 is H, an aliphatic or aromatic group.
