PURPOSE: To prevent the hand from being inserted into a press section by throwing an empty can into a charging sleeve coupled freely openably and closably with said cylindrical bodies by a pivotal shaft and the sleeve is turned and opened by said can thereby dropping the can into the press section.

CONSTITUTION: A pivotal shaft 14 is inserted into the lug parts 13 of both semi- cylindrical bodies 12 to constitute a charging sleeve 11 which is installed in an inclined state. The operator throws an empty can K through the window hole 1a of a machine body 1 into the sleeve 11 and rotates downward the sleeve 11 by holding the shaft 14. The sleeve 11 is positioned in the horizontal state by such operation, then the root part 25b of a locking pin 25 is disengaged from a guiding part 27 and the pin 25 is disengaged from the detaining hole by the action of a spring 26. Both semi-cylindrical bodies 12 of the sleeve 11 are thus opened by the action of a return spring 24 and the can K is dropped into a press section 2a. When the press plate 5 of a press device body 2 advances in succession to said dropping, an actuating body 42 presses a pressing body 36 and turns the same thereby pressing the bodies 12 and closing the sleeve 11.
