Title:
REAR SUSPENSION FOR MOTORCAR
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JPS5914507
Kind Code:
A
Abstract:

PURPOSE: To prevent the deviation of a wheel and improve the stability of steering by a simple structure by a method wherein a wheel hub is displaced about a ball joint by the outward reaction in the left and right directions of the car generated in a stabilizer upon bumping in order to control the posture of the wheel.

CONSTITUTION: The pivoting shaft of a semi-trailing arm 1 is not in parallel to the pivoting shaft of the stabilizer 8, therefore, a difference is caused in the pivoting traces thereof and a coupling part 11 is pivoted forcibly about the pivoting shaft of the arm 1 while the pivoting trace of the arm 1 shows a direction l2 with respect to the direction l1 of the same of the stabilizer 8. Accordingly, the outward reaction in the left and right directions of a body is generated in the arm 8b as a rigidity reaction. Here, when the coupling part 11 is provided at the aft side of the coupling point of the ball joint P of the wheel hub 4, the hub 4 is turned into the direction of toe-in about the ball joint P and when it is provided at the position lower than the same of the joint P, the hub is turned into a reverse camber direction while the wheel 5 is turned into the directions of toe-in and reverse-camber and the stability in the steering of the car may be obtained.
